Our Team at Float4 lights up the world’s first guitar shaped hotel by designing its nightly Guitar Show.
The hotel was designed by Steve Peck of Klai Juba Wald Architecture. The digital media façade was managed, directed, engineered and installed by DCL (Design Communications Ltd.), a Boston-based leading fabricator of architectural specialties. The building stands 450-ft-tall with 34 storeys, and looks over the Hollywood, Florida.
The front facade of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is both a media system and a dynamic sculpture. The building is lined with 16,800 LED video fixtures (V-Sticks), which serve as a screen and stage to daily musical showcases. Six lasers are projected nearly 20,000 ft into the sky,
mimicking the strings on a guitar neck.
During a show, individual V-Sticks will light up with different colours, speeds, patterns or directions. Each show is based on a content sequence the Float4 team designed. The team worked with SACO Technologies, who provided the V-Sticks, to program and choreograph the shows.
